Some Mac users may run into difficulty when first trying to access PressPi through their browsers, due to the way that macs handl internal DNS resolution. Until we are able to figure out a proper resolution for this quirk, We’ve put together this tutorial for Mac Users who may be having difficulty accessing their PressPi image.
1.) open Terminal.app ( Applications > Utilities > Terminal.app)
2.) In terminal window – paste the code below and press return (enter):
sudo -b ’/Applications/Textedit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit’ /etc/hosts
3.) Enter your user password – This will open /etc/hosts file in TextEdit.app
4.) At the end of the opened file add:
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX presspi
where:
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX is YOUR RaspberyPi address,
Example: 192.168.1.12 presspi
5.) Save and close the file. – Done!
Delete your browser history and restart your browser, You should now be able to access PressPi!
